We hope you’ll feel at home within the ecosystems here, and we invite you to experience them with all of your senses, as a visitor or a volunteer.
Volunteers have three focus areas
Habitat regeneration
Fridays 10 a.m.-noon
Do you have a passion for rewilding? This team will work on woodland regeneration and prairie establishment with Tim Bachelor, MTSO’s Land Steward. Activities will evolve with the seasons.
Children’s garden
Wednesdays 10 a.m.-noon
If you enjoy collaborative and creative gardening, consider participating in the Children and Youth Garden. The foundation of this team is a 90-foot diameter circular garden and ADA accessible beds.
Community greens
Wednesdays 10 a.m.-noon
Each season Seminary Hill Farm grows vegetables distributed to food insecure communities. This year we are dedicating a 10,000 square foot field solely to this effort. We focus on greens (spinach, lettuce, chard, collards, kales, tatsoi and more) and fresh herbs that are hard for food pantries to obtain.
Evening and weekend opportunities
Volunteers are also welcome for a variety of projects on second Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and second Sundays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (These are listed as Community Supported Agriculture Work Share Volunteer Time on our Point registration site but are open to all.)
Groups
We are happy to design and schedule volunteer experiences for groups. Reach out to Laura Ann Bergman at Seminary Hill Farm to get connected: 740-409-1881 or seminaryhillfarm@mtso.edu.
